WHAT ABEL BUSHFIRE CAN DO FOR YOU

Professional Consulting

Abel Bushfire is an integrated arm of Abel Ecology, utilising BPAD-accredited practitioners for bushfire risk assessment. Abel Ecology can provide specialised ecology reports including Vegetation Management Plans (VMP), Prescribed Ecological Action Reports (PEAR), Arboriculture Impact Assessments (AIA) and Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports (BDAR). Bushfire protection and ecological constraints are often at odds with each other so an integrated approach can streamline the process for both client and consent authority.

Abel Bushfire practitioners can provide assessments and reports for residential, commercial and industrial projects, subdivisions, Special Fire Protection Purpose projects. We can also supply Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) certificates to support Complying Development Certificates (CDC).

What is a BPAD-accredited practitioner?

Not all bushfire protection practitioners are the same! A practitioner accredited under the Bushfire Planning and Design (BPAD) scheme is professionally trained, qualified and experienced and will competently assess bushfire risk to provide practical advice on protection of property and people. The BPAD scheme is nationally administered by Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia).

A BPAD-accredited practitioner will ensure that a proposed development complies with all bushfire related planning, development and building laws and meets the requirements of local councils and the NSW Rural Fire Service.

A professional assessment of the likely impact of bushfire on a property by a BPAD-accredited practitioner could result in saving thousands of dollars in construction costs.
